It's Spring, and birdhouses are going up in Lithuania!

Lithuanians love birds, and birdhouses are one way to keep them around and chirping. This month Vidmantas Kapačiūnas, with help from Juožas Juodis (taking a break from http://joeblackphotography.com/) put up 17 (!) new and repaired birdhouses on Kapačiūnas/Kapočiūnas ancestral (300+ years) land in Kertauninkai, just west of Žiežmariai.

At the same time, U.S. soldiers from Fort Hood, Texas, stationed in Lithuania, were putting up birdhouses just outside Kaunas, while getting a bit of recent Lithuanian history from locals.
