I'll Be Virtually Presenting in Vilnius on November 25...

The 2019 CartoCon, the last one I was able to attend in person. That's me in the middle of the first row, in the white shirt and baseball cap -- not dozing, but reading and practicing giving my map award presentation in Lithuanian. To my left are four Lithuanian cousins.

I'll be virtually presenting, in English, in Vilnius on November 25, at CartoCon, the yearly conference at Vilnius University sponsored by the Lithuanian Cartographic Society, of which I am a member.

I have the last two sessions of the conference:

  • 9:30 - 10:00 AM New York time: "Current Trends in Cartographic Education in the New York City Area," including many examples of static and interactive maps submitted by Hunter College students for the Alice Hudson Map Awards, sponsored by the New York Map Society.

  • 10:00 - 10:30 AM New York time: "The awarding of the 2022 Andrew Kapochunas Environmental Map Prize to the winning Lithuanian-resident mapmaker."

The competition is sponsored by the International Cartographic Association: https://icaci.org/ icaci.org

Know anyone with children in Lithuania who would like their kids to participate in their international map drawing contest? https://icaci.org/?s=children%27s+map+contest
