This evening, September 22, between 8 pm and 9 pm local time, fires will be lit across Lithuania and Latvia on hillforts, sacred hills and other places associated with Baltic history. Equinox happens twice a year, once in Spring and again in Fall. Unlike the Summer and Winter Solstices, equinoxes do not mark longer nights or days, but give us days that are equal daytime and nighttime.
