Eight New Antique Maps

Joachim Lelewel (1786-1861), born to a Polonized German family, was a historian, geographer, and mapmaker educated at Vilnius University and buried in Vilnius' Rasos Cemetery.

He created a series of eight historical maps of the Polish-Lithuanian area, published 1830, showing boundaries from 992 to 1675, reproduced below, thanks to the National Library of Poland, via my good friend at www.mapywig.org :
